Government would announce the new minimum
The Federal Government would announce the new minimum wage for workers in the country within the next few hours, f find ollowing an agreement with labour unions and the government committee last Friday. According to reports, the committee is set to present the agreed N30,000 recommendation to President Muhammadu Buhari. More so, a reliable source house disclosed that the minimum wage may be between N25,000 and N30,000 following the outcome of the two-day meeting with organised labour. Organised Labour agreed on a miminum wage of N30,000 after so much arguments and face-off between its representatives and government. The source also added that gove business rnment had come up with N24,000 minimum wage which organised labour rejected. “This may be because they want to be in agreement with the Organised Private Sector who had proposed N25,000, but Labour refused and told them that it was unacceptable” he said.
